Operations transitioned from internal units to the service provider

Electricity and gas provider E.ON has signed a contract with Capgemini for a five-year transformation project worth 50m (£40m).

The deal was signed with Capgemini's German business unit.

The contract covers application lifecycle services for the company's business intelligence systems, SAP ERP and specialised industrial software.

The deal will mean certain operations being moved from E.ON internal units to Capgemini although numbers of jobs which may have been affected have not been disclosed.

However, it builds on an ongoing, long-term relationship between the two companies.

The contract was signed between Capgemini Deutschland GmbH and E.ON IT GmbH at the end of 2011 and the transition phase has now been completed.
