Rovio, the developers behind Angry Birds, are working on a sequel to the best selling app that will be played from the pigs' perspective.

That's according to Pocket-lint, which claims to have seen pictures of the app in action. The report reveals that the app is expected to be released before Christmas.

The story of the original Angry Birds, for those of you that haven't played it, is that the villainous pigs have stolen the birds' eggs, prompting the birds take revenge by launching themselves at the pigs' castles and destroying the little green characters.

The brand new app, though, will see players helping the pigs protect the eggs they've stolen. It will still feature the catapult and wooden and stone structures, claims the report, but will feature different types of pig with various strengths and skills.

Angry Birds has already seen huge success, and, as of May this year, has been downloaded more than a billion times. There's even an Angry Birds Land theme park in Finland, which includes 12 rides, an adventure course and themed restaurants and cafes.
