Apple reportedly unveiling next-gen iPhone on Oct. 4

The much anticipated introduction by Apple of its next-generation iPhone, possibly the iPhone 5 or iPhone 4GS, is reportedly going to happen on Oct. 4.

 

The much anticipated introduction by Apple of its next-generation iPhone, possibly the iPhone 5 or iPhone 4GS, is reportedly going to happen on Oct. 4.

The event will be led by new Apple CEO Tim Cook, who recently took over the reins for ailing Steve Jobs.  This according to a report in AllThingsD, a tech column in the Wall Street Journal

Speculation has run wild in recent months over what features will be in the next generation iPhone, among them possibly being NFC support, a dual-mode GSM/CMDA processor, better video chat, facial recognition and a thinner physique. A final version of Apple’s iOS 5 mobile operating system is just about ready, paving the way for new phones to roll out.
